I’m planning to visit the Philippines later this year, and if money were no object, I’d totally include a stay at Dedon Island on my itinerary. It’s a private island paradise that combines expected luxuries like villa accommodations and white sand beaches with an unexpected crunchy vibe (thanks to organic farming projects, use of only local materials and craftsmanship, and efforts to sustainably integrate the whole resort with its bio-diverse environment).
I must admit, Dedon Island also appeals because it remains a bit off the radar. It’s not as overexposed as other popular beach areas in the Philippines like Boracay. W Magazine summed it up nicely in a recent write-up: “you need to hop at least three different planes to discover any place truly off the beaten path.”
